Estonian Association of Interior Architects annual award 2019 laureate

The new main building of the Estonian Academy of Arts is a former garment factory complex that was partly demolished and partly preserved to accommodate new functions – teaching arts, crafts, design, architecture, preservation, and history of art. The idea of the architecture team was to amplify the potential of synergy between different faculties and different outlooks on creativity. “Our aim was to have a building not as a work in itself, but as a frame for the future works produced within its interior; to create an emergent space or a scaffold space which could be continually renewed by the interventions and extensions by the students and professors”.

hello world!
