Estonian Association of Interior Architects annual award 2021 laureate

The new study and research building is a nearly zero-energy building that was partly converted and partly rebuilt, making it the university’s most energy-efficient building. For the construction of the building, researchers applied their current knowledge and experience in the field of indoor climate, energy efficiency, and timber construction. The ascetic interior design and finishing support the building’s concept demonstrating the diverse use of wood that became a research challenge for fire safety specialists. The engineers’ house is like an experiment conducted in real-time.
